Of course, SG50 NDP is coming soon. It could also be Old Fart's last NDP.
Time to celebrate with a bang!
can just use cheap Chinese fireworks.

The PAP is really, really,.. out of touch with the problems of the "lesser mortals". They are quick to raise the cost of living in Spore with all their price increases. Their greed extends to stealing peoples savings. If you look at all the scams they are proposing, it is theft of our CPF
I thought that maybe there is nothing left in the kitty. However when they can spend billions on white elephants, I wonder about that Buying planes is a wasteful exercise because Spore already has the strongest air force in the regime. All our neighbours are spending their money to improve the lives of their citizens. While the PAP is busy making it harder.
How is this going to protect us from problems like poverty, overcrowding, pandemics like SARs, riots, flooding,...
If the 60% continue to support this gov't Spore is doomed.
This is a change from initial considerations back in the 1990s when the nature of the future combat mix was unclear. What the F-15 did was to provide a multi¬role attack aircraft capable of taking over the F-5 air-to- air role as well as the A-4 strike role - and this realised efficiencies in expenditure and operational support. This is a real change in the thinking of Singaporean force planners and it appears that the delays to the F-35 program drove it. Initial thought was that the F-35 would take over the interceptor role of the F-5 Squadrons, which explains why Singapore maintained a relatively large allotment even after exercising the F-16 and F-15 options. The delay forced a re-evaluation and the RSAF realised that it was no longer be limited to the multirole/strike/intercept concept developed for the A-4, F-5, F-16 force mix. With the F-15SG, the RSAF simply does not need three types.
This entire article is the biggest piece of bullshit I ever read. The asshole that wrote this went to great lengths to justify this useless purchase. Replacing the 40 year old A-4 and the 30 year old F-5 with the F-15SG is like replacing your old Toyota Corolla with a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo. Its not the same, and not even close. Its just a smoke screen. Any number of cheaper models like F-16 (which is also a multi-role aircraft), Grippen, and even Mirage 2000 would more than suffice. Actually with the F-15S, the RSAF has also increased its F-16 fleet, hence making the last sentence of this paragraph total bullshit. The RSAF has no plans to replace the F-16 fleet completely with the F-15SG, and would definitely need this type. By getting rid of the A-4 the RSAF has eliminated the close air support role from its mission. They are not going to use the F-15SG to do what the A-4 does, despite what they claim. The close air support role requires the aircraft to get down and dirty and run the risk of being short down by the "golden bullet" or any number of hand held SAM (MANPADS), AA guns, and short range SAMs like the Rapier class. They are not going to use a $100 million airplane to do the job of a $10 million A-4. Yet, a close air support role is still required in many air forces of today. The USAF despite having the F-15, F-35, and F-16, still use the A-10 Thunderbolt 2 for CAS missions. The RAF use the Harrier for the same mission. The Russians use the SU-25 Frogfoot for their CAS. The real role of the F-15SG is not to replace the A-4. If anything will replace the A-4, it would be the F-16s.
The real reason to buy the F-15SG is to warn the neighbours that we now have a big stick. with the big stick, we can reach out to any ASEAN capital and whack it. It tells the neighbours we can put together a strike package that comprises of F-15SG, KC-135 to refuel them, and AWACS G550 to jam enemy radar and provide radar coverage for the strike package. To me, its cheaper to buy some Scud missiles and shuttle them on trains around the MRT network to make them hard to hit.
Fucking PAP is good at spending money. And listening to the Jews and Americans. They are like a prostitute.
This also indicates a degree of internal consistency in the RSAF purchasing additional F-15SGs - and so does rising regional tension due to Chinese claims and activities in the South China Sea.
Chinese claims in the south china sea has nothing to do with singapore. SIngapore does not have any claims at all. If anything, any regional tension from the Chinese claims would be directed at Vietnam, Japan, Phillippines and other countries in dispute with China. Nothing to do with singapore at all, therefore there never was a need to buy F-15SG to meet this mythical threat. Not only that, the chinese have no capability mount any sustain large military action in the south china sea. They would need one or 2 carrier battle groups and they can't even get one functioning full size carrier in service. Much less project the power that would make them a threat. Even if they did sail a carrier battle group in the south china sea, the old A-4 and F-5 and definitely the F-16s were equipped with the Harpoon anti shipping missile. They would have cut the chinese fleet to ribbons. Its one thing for China to impose its military might in this region, but its completely another to carry it out. The Chinese are probably 2 decades away from doing so.

Why aren't you in MINDEF or MFA replacing the scholars?
Even ISiS can shoot down an F15 and burn the pilot alive.
And the Papies still spend so much to buy such craps which US wants to junk.
Time the Sinkie ' burn the Pappies alive' as well comes polling time. LoL
Everything the PAP writes is a desperate attempt to justify its purchases.doesn't matter it's f4 or f5 or f15 or f16 or f35,exactly how many of these planes are going to see combat?zero.
U have to be pro PAP and suck PAP lancheow. Do I look like that to you?
