Currently I own a DVD player which is region free. This allows me to play DVDs from all regions without any problems. Many branded players have the ability to turn off the players region checking mechanism

I'm looking at upgrading to a blue ray player. Do any blue ray players come with such an ability?

I've see Oppo handphones but where Can I find their blue ray players?

Oppo is the gold standard when it comes multi-region Blu-ray players. They don't come cheap: 5 years ago, one would cost about $4,000. Today you can get the Oppo BDP-103 for about $2,000.

Not talking about standard-def DVD players here. Talking specifically about region-free Blu-ray DVD players. Can't get them here or in Malaysia.

That's expensive. I thought the Oppo products were from China ie cheap

i think you can try in big city like KL or penang, sure got, just try out.
buy blu ray from amazon, try it out in Malaysia.

Who buys BD Players nowadays? everyone plays "soft copies" from a HDD or Thumbdrive. Unless you are using a 106" HD Projector like I am where visual quality is important, just stick to "soft copies". If you really need a BDP, cinavia free is more important than region free.

I watch my BR discs on a 100' projection screen in my home theatre. Sound and picture very important to me. The local BR players are Region A only, can't play BR discs from Europe. So a multi-region BR player is good to have.

sounds very good, it is a very good entertainment during haze and rainy seasons. you can just hide in your house and watch BD movies.

I watch many movies online but don't mind paying for the higher quality that blue ray can provide for the movies I like.

Thinking of upgrading to a newer HD TV & a blue ray player.

oppo lor...but exp like fuck...

Oppo one of the best players interns of quality and reliability, yes it was expensive bought 2 with discount 3 years ago that costs 32,000 baht eat but it's worth it.

Netflix or Amazon Videos offers HD and 4K streaming.

Video players are old schools already.

Plenty of free stuffs on Android.
