Are external degree graduates worth their salt ?

If you're a Head of Department or Manager, have you ever compared the ability of external degree graduates with those from NUS?

Since most external degree graduates (BSc from UOL or BBA from RMIT) CMI to NUS, do they differ in abilities in the real world ? I'm just curious.
