Post date:
10 Feb 2015 - 7:24pm

The 70 year old uncle who was conned out of $400,000 by two elderly women who claimed he had to pay them his salary to pay off a "government debt" now lives with his niece.
The 39 year old, Pamela Lim, was the one to discover that her uncle was being conned when she returned from living in Australia for 15 years and noticed that he always had to borrow money from her even though he had two jobs.

After questioning her uncle about why he had no money, she found out about the two women and she confronted them to give them a chance to pay her uncle back.
One of the two women have since been arrested and the other is also assisting police with investigations.

Ms Lim explained that her uncle was very simple-minded and innocent and she was ver angry when she found out that he was bieng cheated. She explained that he still believes that he owes the government money after having given his salary to the two women for the past 15 years.

He said that he will believe it only when a Government official tells him that he didn't owe them money any more.
Mr Tay now lives with Ms Lim and Ms Lim explained that he had no one else. She was the closest to him among all their other nephews and nieces.
