I'm running out of space on my iPad. So I got myself one of the newer Sandisk iXpand flash drive. It is a memory stick with a lightning connector on one end & a USB 3.0 connector on the other end. I was going to create archives of my pdf files & store them on the iXpand drive & move them them into the iPad when I need them. Here is a video on the product:

The problem I have with the device is with the software. I only have a few photos but plenty of pdf formatted files. The Sandisk software does not recognise pdf formatted files, so I am unable to backup & move these files because the software can't see these pdf files. So I was wondering if anyone can recommend an App that will allow me to do this

hi, for photos, they can be recognized, like when u plug into a computer.

PDF is tricky and can only be transfered by itunes because Apple is very proprietary.

Have u tried transfering your pdf files via itunes?

You don't need to use itunes if you have an app that allows one to transfer some file formats like pdf. I'm using an app named "air transfer+" With this app loaded on my iPad, I can use a browser on my PC e.g. firefox to select files on the PC & I can see these files appearing in the app "air transfer+". All I have to do is select the files & these files are transfered to my iPad

So I have already have a solution to transfer files between the PC & iPad.

The problem I now have is how to transfer pdf files between the iPad & the flash drive? The software that comes with the Sandisk iXpand drive only recognises a limited number of file formats e.g. music, video, iphone address info, ... but not pdf file formats. It cannot see the pdf files that are already in in my iPad.

I'm sure there are already app utilities that will allow me to back up pdf files from my iPad to a flash drive. The problem with the app store is that there are so many apps available. It makes it hard to sift through & identify the correct app :(
