anyone soaked du zhong overnight before cooking?
will it damage the nutrient value?
i mean i will wash clean and soak overnight.i will not pour away the water

reason for soaking:
if normal washing with water and boiling for 2 hrs, it is still 1 solid pc.i suspect the best essence did not flow out

i usually boil with black beans,a little of red dates, little of wolf berries,and orange peel.
without salt and any topping

now i got reinvent the idea.
i bought a new scissor

to get the best out of precious expensive du zhong(the precious part is the sticky latex)
i cut the piece of du zhong into hundred of expose line(expose line bigger expose surface area of latex area)
when you boil in hot water,is much easiler for the latex to ozoo out

outside got sell those du zhong in powder
problem is those might be lower grade younger du zhong (the older the better more than 50years best)
moreover the price of powder du zhong is 30% more expensive
