Norton 360

With the growing menace of criminal acts in cyberspace, I am considering buying some computer security programs.
I thinking of getting the Norton 360 as it covers all devices. I would like to seek the advice of IT experts here. R these Norton s/w good and necessary?
Do we need them?

Thank u in advance.

Matthew

why spend money on all this IT security rubbish?

Just go for unplanned maintenance

Norton = bloated crapware. Only gongkia hipsters will buy Norton software, especially from Challenger. ;)

There was (note the past tense) only one good product from Norton: Norton Ghost. Now Acronis is better than Ghost.

yeah. last time i was gongkia enuff to buy legal copies of Norton Utilities & other Norton s/w from Challenger. More than 10 yrs have transpired.. I think Norton should have bucked up with their latest offerings. I need an automated and professional grade security s/w. Kinda of paranoid these days.

Well, will read reviews from CNET, ZDNET to find out more.;)

don't use stupid window , whatever version.

change to linux ubuntu or fedora or freebsd pc-bsd.
you can install wire shark to see what's going on.

I second that. Acronis is much much better than stupid Ghost.

Agree. All IT security software are rubbish. To prevent anyone attack or hacker. The best way is dont connect it to internet or go online.

This is very true. Security software detects potential threats and give user warning before running or opening a file. How would a user know if he should proceed ? Might as well don't connect to internet LOL

when i get a new laptop i would install all the s/w i need and do backup. every few mths i would restore from this backup.
