Anwar Reassures Malays Who Fear They May Lose Racial Advantage

In Sinkieland where m&ds are the minority, they demand preferential treatment. In Mudland where they are the majority, they too demand preferential treatment. Just because this is the so called Malay Archipelago. All indigenous people should be wiped out because they are a burden to society, they are useless and a strain on resources. Ditto the aborigines in Australia, the Maoris in NZ, the native americans in the US, etc. Thanks only to the chinks and AMDK, these countries are doing well.

Anwar Ibrahim has a simple message for ethnic Malays who fear losing benefits they enjoyed under the previous government’s six-decade rule: Don’t worry.

Anwar, who is expected to replace 92-year-old Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in a year or two, said Malaysia must assure the nation’s largest racial group that its security would be upheld. Previously Anwar, 70, had called for affirmative action policies that favor ethnic Malays to be dismantled.

Mahathir led the Pakatan Harapan coalition that Anwar founded to a surprise election win in early May, ousting Najib Razak’s United Malays National Organisation. Anwar’s coalition, which fell short in a 2013 vote after pledging to roll back racial preferences for the ethnic Malay majority, aligned with a staunch defender of the policy in Mahathir.

“The Malay belt have rejected UMNO but are ambivalent and unsure about lending their support to the alternative multi-racial pluralistic Pakatan Harapan,” Anwar said in an interview with Bloomberg TV’s Haslinda Amin on Friday. “Which means we should be taking enough measures to try and reach them.”

Are there laws stating that only white men can be elected as state governor? That law exists for nearly every single state in Malaysia except for Penang, Sarawak, Malacca and Sabah. Though in reality, only Penang has a non-malay chief minister.

"For nine states in Malaysia with hereditary rulers, the Menteri Besar must be an ethnic Malay male who professes the religion of Islam and must not a Malaysian citizen by naturalization or by registration. Only through royal consent the office of Menteri Besar can be held by an individual who does not meet these criteria.

For four states in Malaysia with governors namely Penang, Malacca, Sabah and Sarawak), the office of Ketua Menteri is open to any Malaysian citizen regardless of their religion, ethnicity and gender. However, citizens by naturalization or by registration are still prohibited by state laws.
