Really sad that these guys do not seem to understand why a multi- ethnic country with a cosmopolitan history is now emerging to be "ultra-nationalistic" and racists and ironically against those who arrived from their original country of descent..

If these do-gooders are keen to help, they can do all a favour by identifying and airing the underlying causes, discuss and propose solutions.

Awareness of FT culture and food is really silly. Where do they think noodles, briyani etc came from. Sometime I wonder if people like Ravi P, Andrew etc strive on the constant need to have a public profile.

Sadly they have associated themselves with an SPH article, PAP MP etc on the basis that these anti-foreigner sentiments are irrational and baseless. Sentiments that are supposedly and purely racists and xenophobic. A Singapore Indian upset with a FT Indian whose family that walks abreast on a narrow footpath with a pram holding an overgrown toddler. A Singapore Chinese that makes derogatory comment about Chinese FT asking her child to urinate at the corner of a moving MRT train. Local Singaporeans whose growing source of main income is from renting part or their whole flat to FTs as they no can longer hold on their jobs.

If they are keen to help their fellow countrymen, they should start an organisation or blog highlightling the plight of economically displaced Singaporeans, workplace abuses etc. They can also do a blog helping FTs adapt to this country by having awareness topics on proper conduct, mannerisms, and lampooning boorish and inconsiderate behaviour.

i dont understand why people here vent their frustration at FT instead of the policy maker. Some time ago, there was an incident between a drunkard Singaporean scolding a PRC parking attendant for doing his job. . Despite being the victim, the PRC got attacked over the internet forum just because he is a FT. The line has been crossed to the extend that as long as it's a local VS FT, local is always right.
