Bryan Johnson, 48, is known for experimenting with ways to achieve anti-aging effects and even prolong human life.

They include having the blood of his 20-year-old son transfused into his own body.

However, in a Jul. 1 post on X, he revealed that his quest for longevity has hit a snag.

"Bad news #1," the millionaire wrote, "I have an autoimmune disease. My stomach is eating itself."

He discovered he had the condition, autoimmune gastritis, in May 2026.

Autoimmune gastritis is a chronic inflammatory condition where the body's immune system attacks the acid-producing cells that make up the stomach lining.

According to Johnson, the condition may lead to health issues such as nutritional deficiency and anaemia.

In the long-term, it might also result in "elevated cancer risk".

2 to 5 per cent of people have it, and there is currently no cure, he added.

Despite the diagnosis, the millionaire said he isn't throwing in the towel.

"I'm going to try and solve it," he declared, going on to detail how he will approach treating the autoimmune condition.
