A reader has brought to TRE’s attention this advertisement [Link]:

The company is specifically looking for a UK “talent” to fill the position of
Digital Account Director. It is offering an annual salary of S$120,000. The
position is based in Singapore.

The ad entices British “talents” to apply for the job by saying that “living
in Singapore provides a fantastic quality of life”. It highlights easily
accessible weekend trips to Thailand and Indonesia:

The interesting part about this job ad is that an unknown firm placed the ad
through a UK-based recruitment agency, Ultimate Asset. Ultimate Asset is a
boutique recruitment consultancy in the UK, located in London [Link].

Since the foreign-based recruitment agency is beyond the legal jurisdiction
of Singapore, MOM and TAFEP cannot compel the agency to disclose which Singapore
company is doing it.

Very likely, the foreign recruitment agency will help the company filter out
and narrow down the UK applicants to a handful of candidates for interview. The
company can either send someone to the UK to interview the candidates or it can
interview them via teleconference. When a suitable candidate is found, the
company will simply apply for an Employment Pass (EP) for the Briton and fly him
here once the EP is approved. Everything is aboveboard, at least in legal terms.
Meanwhile, a Singaporean has been deprived of the opportunity to land this
job.

Even when the Fair Consideration Framework (FCF) is implemented on 1 August
2014, it appears this company can still get away with hiring UK “talents” only
whenever it wants to.

The new rules will require the company to advertise the job vacancy in the
Workforce Development Agency’s new job bank meant for Singaporeans for 14 days.
This gives the company an ID for the job ad. After 14 days, it will simply
ignore all Singaporean applications with the excuse that the applicants are
simply not “talented” enough. It will then proceed with hiring a British
“talent” in the manner described above. When applying for an EP for the Briton,
it will then use the ID in its application to “prove” it has already tried, but
unsuccessfully, to hire a Singaporean.

The only way to ferret out such abuses is when the company has a
disproportionately low level of Singaporean PMEs working there
as compared to its peers in the industry. But what if the whole industry is
discriminating against Singaporeans? In that sorry case, the company would not
register a disproportionately low level of Singaporean PMEs.

It is a mystery why this company is bent on recruiting a British person for
the job. Perhaps the company’s CEO is British and wants a fellow countryman to…
ahem… accompany him on weekend trips to Thailand and
Indonesia?

It is amazing how this career ethnic of cleansing of Singaporeans is being
carried out so easily, abetted by a government who is more concerned that Ang
Mohs and other foreign talents have a fair shot at seizing jobs in
Singapore.

Is Singapore the only place that is hard-up for talents compared to the likes
of Germany, France, Holland, the Scandinavian Countries, Switzerland, Israel,
Japan, South Korea, Australia – all of these countries are similarly competing
with other countries to be more innovative and enterprising ?

Or is it that the governments of the other countries give priority and
recognition to their own talents that exist among their nationals, compared to
Singapore’s PAP Government which seems to adopt a superiority complex in
admonishing and deriding Singaporeans in general ?

Is there a negative psychological trait that exist in the PAP LEEdership when
dealing with Singaporeans in general ?

This is reflected in the PAP Mentor revealing insult when he called
Singaporean as “DAFT” seemingly forgetting that he is also a Singaporean too.


Clearly, the PAP Government no longer has any empathy towards Singaporeans
despite all the propaganda and “wayang” displayed.

If the PAP has any interest towards Singaporean instead of achieving their
political agenda – the PAP Government could have implemented the same policies
as that found in many First World Countries named in the earlier paragraph.

Those countries that were named are Global Cities too, and without any
deliberate efforts by the respective Governments to implement deliberate polices
to re-engineer their respective societies, or to constantly balance the
ethnicity of the population.

These governments have very stringent policies allowing foreigners to compete
for jobs with their respective nationals – with the exception of the free
movement of labor within the member states of the European Union.

The PAP Government would have achieved the same goals of attracting talents
and making Singapore into a “Global City” – and without ruffling the emotions of
Singaporeans.

This can be achieved in the same manner as in Europe, when there is free
movement of labor amongst the member states of ASEAN – instead of letting in a
free flow of cheap labor and questionable “talents” from non-traditional states
in India and PRC, Bangladesh, UK, Europe, Australia, NZ, USA, Japan, South
Korea.

If anything at all, this PAP Government practice racist policies despite all
its public claims otherwise. It insist on keeping the racial or ethnic numerical
balance in Singapore, and constantly tweak at the scale to supplement the
falling birthrates with more from the relevant countries – without considering
if the provincial natives will integrate with those who have settled in
Singapore since the Colonial Days.

It is time for Singaporean to be pro-active to change our political
circumstances, when those entrusted with the political authority will abuse such
authority to work against our interests.

Singaporeans will have to remove the PAP from the seat of Government in
GE-2016, or the PAP Government will replace us with a constant influx of NEW
Citizens, PRs and dubious “Foreign Talents”.

TRE or Transitioning.sg should forward these to MOM or TAFEP to investigate.
If they are not doing anything, we will let the social media to take over to
expose all these unscrupulous organisations. This is one way to “shame” the
useless world highest pay cabinet and let the whole world know how incapable and
inefficient this government is!!


I think this is the minimum we can do to protect ourself or our children from
been invaded by all these unwanted and rubbish so-called talents from their own
countries to come to SIngapore.


This is true, if all these so-called talents are TALENT, there is no reason
why they need to leave his/her country and come all the way to this tiny little
dot Singapore!!…Yet is true that this country has been a rubbished bin collector
for decade and all the social problem arose due to foreigners invade into our
heart….lost of jobs, crowded road and public transport, etc, etc…causing many
singaporeans felt stress, upset eventually rebellious…

Singapore is a very tiny dot in the world map and ordinary SIngaporeans have
been suffered and deprived of our right to survive in our own country for
decade. Yes, for more than ten years, our Greed/ incapable government has pushed
for their own agenda and goal to grow GDP at all means all costs without even
care to protect its own local Singaporeans!


All of us are been suffered quietly for years until we think the government
is too over…..PAP pushed for themselves been the highest pay cabinet in the
world but his people by large was jobless or stagnant in pay for years as many
of us been replaced by foreigners under the PAP pro-foreigner to flood this
country… too much too selfish till we sent a signal in election 2011…..but are
we happy after 2 years to renew their “Permit To Govern”?


PAP promised to reduce the foreigners “invaded” into our country but MOM
reports show the no of S-pass/EP holders have been gradually increased from 2011
to 2013, what did they promised in election 2011 and what is actually happen
now? In fact, many of us think the figures in 2013 will be much higher than what
MOM is reported as MOM did not allow us to check the number of foreigners vs
singaporean in each company.
So, to make up the employment for Singaporean, NS
men has been slotted into the employment statistic ….


Please, Singaporeans, for the sake of your own and your next generation,
please vote PAP out in 2016 for at least one term to punish them for been
incapable to protect his own people!
