This disused railway bridge could collapse soon and is a potential danger to citizens living in the area, says concerned STOMPer Metallurgist. He hopes the bridge can be demolished to avoid any accidents.

Said the STOMPer:

"These pictures were taken near the disused railway bridge that spans the Sungei Ulu Pandan near Block 307 Clementi Ave 4.

"The bridge is in an advanced stage of corrosion and may collapse anytime.

"Some of the supporting railway metal tracks are loose and falling apart.

"There are holes and gaps in the old railway bridge and trees are now growing on the track.


"The SLA has put up a notice: DANGER. KEEP OUT.

"The SLA notice is not a deterrent to children who choose to play on the bridge as they are curious by nature.

"This bridge is not cordoned off by barbed wires and is hence alluring to children from the HDB estate who come here to play.

"There are also anglers who fish in the river below and if the bridge were to collapse there would be casaulties.

"To prevent future accidents and loss of lives and limbs I hope the bridge can be removed since it has outlived its purpose."

This is SGP? I tot it is Mynamar.

One of those railways they used WW2 POWs to build and many died because of that..

No lah!, the railway here was built by the Indentured labourers from India, brought in by the British Raj..which prataman, may have descended from one of these...

The railway bridge belongs to KTM.

It is sensitive issue for Sg government to just go in and demolish the bridge.
