MRT service restored after track circuit failure; commuters complain of delay
Published on Feb 24, 2014
9:29 AM

Train services from Jurong East towards Kranji station were restored at about 9am on Monday morning, operator SMRT said on its official Twitter account.

Free buses, which were activated to cope with the overcrowding that occurred on train platforms between Admiralty and Ang Mo Kio stations, remain available. SMRT also sent empty trains to the affected stations to ease the overcrowding.

Train services were delayed on Monday morning's rush hour on the North-South Line towards Marina Bay station due to a track circuit failure.

Paper general kwek needs to go....

Well done, Des, we are confident that you and your team are still working hard to achieve ZERO TOLERANCE towards breakdown.
Meantime, your customers are also working towards ZERO TOLERANCE of your inept leadership.

The news coverage from the SPH presstitutes is simply pathetic these days.

No more of the word 'breakdown'. Not even 'interruption' or 'disruption'. Not even a mention of the time duration of the delay.

I think its so common nowadays its no longer news.
Soon mrt breakdowns will be part and parcel of everyday sinkie life....machiam difficulty in getting a cab during peak hours.....sinkies will learn to live with it.

And have the cheek to ask for price hike.

They have run out of good excuses for these increases.
Last time they can blame on increasing operating costs such as increasing fuel prices or "phantom" fare cheats. Or cost of replacing the buses.

Never mind that they are using cheap foreign drivers & they have always been very profitable.

To be honest, most of us are resigned to this already. If there is no breakdown in a week, it is a bonus!!!
