A tragic accident took place at at Lim Chu Kang Cemetery on Sunday (Dec 22), when a three-year-old boy was run over by a private bus.

According to a report in The Straits Times, three-year-old Kryshan Nirmal Kumar was attending a relative's funeral with his mother Jayshri Ramasamy at about 4.15pm.

She had let go of Kryshan's hand momentarily to help her elder son redo his laces.

While the coffin was being lowered into the ground, a loud sound was heard, reports Lianhe Wanbao.

Around 50 friends and relatives were present for the funeral.

When the group turned around, they saw Kryshan under the front left wheel of the bus, which was hired by the family to ferry friends and relatives to and from the cemetery.

Kryshan's family believes that he died on the spot.

According to a report in The New Paper, the driver was unaware of what happened until the boy's mother frantically knocked on the bus door and pointed to the wheels.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver, 48, was arrested for causing death due to negligence, and is assisting with investigations.

Ah Neh kid must have loved that relative of his too much, so he wanted to 陪葬.

Wow, Ah Neh exempted from cremation? Is it due to their religion? I thought land is scarce in Singapore and we should make sacrifices to fully optimise land usage.
