<!--start of story text-->The family of an 82-year-old lady is seeking compensation from SMRT after she fell and was hurt on one of its buses.
The incident occurred last Thursday when Madam Chan Lan Ching was on board Service 178, travelling along Bukit Batok Road towards Woodlands Interchange.
Speaking on Wednesday from her bed at Alexandra Hospital, she said she lost her grip and fell from her seat when the driver made a sudden right turn.
She claimed that while she was struggling to get up, the driver suddenly stepped on the brakes, causing her to hit her face against a metal pole.
