He did not asked for the camera to pan towards him, as in the control room with multiple TV monitor screens, there would had been many, many automated cameras capturing the crowds as well as events every second, and for the Director to make a decision on the best scenes to be portrayed on National Television.
What ultimately is the best? - UNSCRIPTED and REAL emotions, as we Humankind, REGARDLESS of race, language or religion, are only emotional Beings, fully capable of joys and sorrows......more so in such events which only portrays realities...
