Haha, I think I'm a rare breed then.....
maybe you are a rare breed or maybe I am wrong

I collected my new passport this morning. They asked me if I hold another passport. Obviously I said no la.
I dont think so, I think daphne raised a valid issue and MHA/ICA ignore her at their own peril.

That has always been the case for thousands of Singaporeans over the years, you say No, they take your word for it & everything is OK. If they were to actively persue those who they suspect of having dual or even triple citizenship, they're openning a can of worms.
IMO Singapore will continue to have this No Dual Citizenship policy for years to come, simply becos if they don't & allow for dual citizenship, lots more people will leave & that would unstablise the country, so it's there for a purpose. The trick is knowing how the system works & like Bro Joetys telling of the occasional white lie might actually be benefitial to both parties.
Obviously those who are thinking of leaving or migrating out of Singapore for whatever reasons, the earlier/younger you do it the better as you're not too tied down by the burden of CPF.
What peril?Daphne will rape them? Daphne will complain to Julia Gillard? Daphne will not vote for PAP?

Ignorance is bliss, no ?
if the pap starts revoking citizenship, will it get down well with other Singaporeans? Will more SG citizens leave as they are now forced to choose?
Unfortunately Daphne (mis)represents a small fraction of Singaporeans with choices. Most can't leave. This case will cause as many ripples as a pepple kicked from Bedok Jetty into the sea on a windy day. Even the replies from this forum treats your own psycho - the cohort here (mis)represents an unusual number of pro-opposition supporters

this issue may just be one nail
but, if mishandled, every nail seals the pap coffin tighter
PAP is screwed. But meanwhile, exists to screw us even more. Daphne should just enjoy the screwing. After being screwed 100 times, surely at least one time can have an orgasm?
What does Daphne have to lose?

I believe relatives of PAP MPs are involved too.....
Anyone dare to challenge the PAP to screen their members and families?
If the PAP govt wants to squeeze 6 million population onto a small piece of land and make this place a cosmopolitan rich man's playground, sooner or later it'll have to allow for dual citizenship.
Unfortunately, the PAP will resist this because it can potentially open a can of worms. Two issues I can think of are CPF and NS.
The pap still thinks that it is almighty.
What does Daphne have to lose?
Her Singaporean citizenship.
You've answered this question yourself. If Daphne thinks its not worth losing, she wouldn't have bothered to write to TCH. Or she is crying wolf? Who knows, tons of people write to TCH daily.... how do they filter the geniune or pretenders/cry babies like Daphne.
