Dear cheery, did u vote for FAP? if u did, why complain for fuck? donch you know sinkies have oredi become 3rd class citizens? Donch u know that sinkies have to kowtow and be coolies to FT? Foreigners shoo family away from Botanic Gardens landmark because they 'booked it'
A group of foreigners using the Swan Lake Gazebo in Botanic Gardens shooed STOMPer cheery and her family away when the STOMPer asked to take a family photo at the landmark.
STOMPer cheery said that according to an NParks staff member, they were required to share the venue with the public, despite booking it.
In the STOMPer's email dated Jul 31:
"To celebrate my aunt's 10th anniversary with my uncle, we decided to commemorate the occasion by taking some family photos at the famed Swan Lake at Botanic Gardens.
"We also wanted to take some photos at the Swan Lake Gazebo located beside the lake.
"When we got there, we saw a group of foreigners laying their mat in the centre of the pavilion with browines and curry puffs.
"Thinking that they were about to have a party, we thought that it would be nice to ask whether we could take photos at one of the four available benches in the pavilion.
"One of them rejected our photo request and said that we could not be at the pavilion because they booked the place.
"When we tried to verify their booking, they shooed us away and told us to go to the information counter.
"Upon our last plea for them to spare us just 3 minutes to take a photo, he replied rudely “ Which part of I’ve booked this place do you not understand!”
"Puzzled that we were shooed away from an iconic heritage structure which was designated to be preserved by URA in Singapore's most historic public park, we went to enquire their booking at the information counter.
"After checking with the NParks information counter, we learned that despite having a booking, they were required to share it with the public should they request it.
"When confronted and told of this rule by the NParks, the foreigners were extremely rude to us and one of them even shouted that they had a right to the place since they booked it.
"When he told his friends and family members about the incident, they even raised their voice and exclaimed, “This is ridiculous!”
"Thoroughly embarrassed by the ruckus and stares we have attracted, we eventually left without taking a photo.
"I am appalled that these foreigners deprive us Singaporeans, of the right to use our public spaces!"
