习近平欢迎萨巴赫第7次访华，赞赏萨巴赫为中科关系发展作出重要贡献。习近平指出，中科是患难见真情的好朋友。建交47年来，双方始终真诚友好、平等相待，务实合作的深度和广度不断延伸，给两国人民带来了实实在在的好处。当今世界正处在变革调整的关键期，中方提出构建人类命运共同体，就是要以合作深化共同利益，以融合促进世界和平，同世界各国实现合作共赢、共同发展。
习近平强调，中方把科威特作为在海湾方向共建“一带一路”和维护地区稳定的重要合作伙伴。双方要深化政治互信，坚定支持彼此核心利益。中方将一如既往支持科方走符合本国国情的发展道路。科威特是最早同中国签署共建“一带一路”合作文件的国家。双方要加强发展战略对接，争取实现合作项目早期收获。要扩大在能源、基础设施、金融、贸易、投资等领域合作，密切人文交流，深化安全和反恐合作。中方愿同科方加强沟通和协调，推动中国同海湾阿拉伯国家合作委员会关系稳步向前发展，共同促进地区和平稳定。

会谈后，两国元首见证了多项双边合作文件的签署。双方还发表了《中华人民共和国和科威特国关于建立战略伙伴关系的联合声明》。
