Many people have either forgotten about this case or have lost interest in it.
A few years ago, a china national killed his singaporean restaurant supervisor over a dispute they had at work. It was reported that after he killed his supervisor, the china national shouted "We china people are not to be bullied". I'm not sure, but I think the killer got only a few years jail for his crime, not more than 5 if I recall correctly. Hope someone can confirm or correct this.
Which of us here has not got into work disputes with our supervisors before? Which of us here has not got into work disputes with our subordinates? I believe we all have, but none of us has killed or been killed because of a work dispute. I don't profess to know all the facts of the case and neither do I know what the supervisor said or did. What he said or did couldn't have been pretty, but I don't think it deserved getting him killed. He was a young man at the prime of his life with a bright future ahead of him. Another important point is that he was working in his own country. He had not ventured to another country for greener pastures or to make more money, he was simply trying to make a living in his homeland.
If the punishment was indeed less than 5 years, it is certainly not enough.
What do you think? Can you offer more facts or some insights?
