i dunno whether sharing dreams with u guys make any sense. anyway, this is my belated real-life dream which i just had a few nights ago.
my best friend passed away about a couple of months back. he was already ashes to ashes and dust to dust. what was left was only an urn of his remains which was finally laid to rest in the mandai columbarium.
he had been my best friend since school day and died prematurely of a sudden heart attack.
on the last nite of the 7th lunar mth of the hungry ghosts festival, he came into my dream in full splendour in glowing gown. he was bald and was smiling very sweetly. he held my hand ....and gave me the biggest and sweetest smile. just smile only. hardly any talking.
when i awoke i told the dream to my wifey and mum. hell!! their faces turned really dreadful. especially mum who told me it was a BAD OMEN to dream dead people. it was even worst to dream about smiling dead person....and WORSEREST that a dead smiling person holding my hand.
now what's next?
both the girls strongly advised me to buy some offerings and burnt it to my dearly departed pal.
i was obstinate. i explained my version of the dream to them....
my best pal could be appearing for the last time to me in my dream in grand splendour cos he probably would be reincarnated again to suffer another lifetime. hence he was smiling so sweetly to me. probably he was hinting that we won't be encountering each other again in the next life or forever more unless i too end up in PURELAND - the place where all good buddhists go when they die.
i was so pleased for my pal which explained why he was total bald and heading shining with a halo....until my wifey had to unkindly remind me that my dead pal was a CHRISTIAN when was alive and the memorial he went through was a christian service.
@@
so now how? what m i suppose to do?
no problem, mum n wifey had done all the necessary offering burning to my pal and hopefully i could be right that he is either with christ's heaven or buddha's pureland. whatever it is, my pal was the best person i ever met in my life. i miss him but i also feel very fortunate to have met him this life....and ended up as best of friends.
