An ancient priceless sword from China was irreversibly damaged while on loan to Singapore and since then China will never loan it overseas ever again.

The Sword of Goujian (Chinese: 越王勾践剑; pinyin: Yuèwáng Gōujiàn jiàn)[1] is a tin bronze sword, renowned for its unusual sharpness, intricate design and resistance to tarnish rarely seen in artifacts of similar age. The sword is generally attributed to Goujian, one of the last kings of Yue during the Spring and Autumn period.

"While on loan to Singapore for display as part of a cultural exchange exhibition in 1994, a worker accidentally bumped the sword against the display case, resulting in a 7-millimetre crack on the sword. Since then, China has not allowed the sword to be taken out of the country, and in 2013 officially placed the sword onto the list of Chinese cultural relics forbidden to be exhibited abroad."

Fake news. It’s a sword supposedly to kill in a battle you mean it cannot withstand a knock ? It’s like telling me a stove will melt under heat.

prime example was the tumu crisis in 1449 where the ming emperor with a vast army of 500k was nearly wiped out by the mongols with a much smaller army of 20k. to add insult to injury the ming emperor was captured and held for ransom forcing the ming court to pick another incompetent emperor. all show no bite.

The sword is use for fighting, not for display.
Unless the sword had been used for display for centuries upon centuries..

Is this sword a Kind sword ?

More like the worker was horse playing around with the sword thinking he is an ancient chink warrior.
A typical trait these lowly assholes have because they see no value in these stuff.
