hahaha...your IQ level is well known in this forum....
I am talking about basics of control engineering which of course is beyond you....
control engineering principle is applicable to many things.....including lift controls....

Wah kukushit, you expert now on lift engineering, ah? Or are you just an empty vessel?

hahaha....you are genuinely dumb...
where in my posts i claimed to be expert on lift engineering????
give u very simple analogy......
if u parked your car on a slope and applied handbrake and walked away....after dinner u returned to find your car at the bottom of the slope...u would instantly knew that your brakes had worn out or u had pulled the handbrake half up only....
does that made u an expert on car engineering???

in this case, it was also clear that the mechanical brake was unable to hold the lift car in a stationary position....due to the probable causes highlighted....

hahaha....if the AE's report is correct, then it is a mechanical problem...the E-stop will not hold/stop the lift car in a stationary position...
something is missing here....they have done the rectification which means that they should have found the exact cause...jammed mechanical parts of the brakes, oily brake drum and worn-off brake liners??
but nothing in the statement confirming the actual cause???

Mechanical wear and tear is normal through time.
But there are several safety devices to prevent accident in case of mechanical breakdown.
Problem is, not all of them are aware of how to properly maintained the safety devices.
Most, I would say, would know how to replace the mechanical parts, but not on the electrical part.
And safety mechanical adjustment must be quite fine and accurate, in order to achieve best performance.
If not, the elevator will always shows breakdown every other week.
