Lead: According to the Fashion Business News, the Mexican Ministry of Culture sent a letter to Louis Vuitton, the world's largest luxury brand, on July 5, stating that the design of a chair in the brand's Dolls by Raw Edges collection was designed by Mexican artist Hidalgo. I hope that the brand can apply Mexican-style patterns with permission or cooperation with artists. (Source: Sina Fashion Synthesis)
As of now, Louis Vuitton has not responded to this. It is noteworthy that less than a month ago, designer brand Carolina Herrera also received a warning letter from the Mexican Ministry of Culture about “cultural possession”.
On June 17, according to the Guardian, the Mexican government recently accused Venezuela designer Carolina Herrera of the 2020 vacation series of personal branding involving cultural appropriation and asked her to explain.

The official website of the American fashion brand Carolina Herrera describes the 2020 holiday series as “it presents Latin holiday fun and colorful style”, but Mexican cultural minister Alejandra Frausto believes that this series abuses a lot of unique cultural and design elements in Mexico. So he wrote a letter to Herrera himself and the brand's new creative director Wes Gordon to blame them.
Frausto emphasized in the letter that some of the patterns used by the Carolina Herrera brand are very special for parts of Mexico and local people, asking if these groups would benefit from Carolina Herrera's clothing sales.
