American Airlines flight diverts to Texas after woman screams, ‘We’re all gonna die’
The flight from Florida to California made an emergency landing in El Paso.

An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing in El Paso this week after a woman began screaming at other passengers and asking them to repent.
Flight 1295 departed Miami for Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, but the aircraft was diverted to El Paso International Airport following “a disturbance featuring an unruly passenger,” American Airlines spokesman Derek Walls said.
A business passenger told The Daily Beast that a woman came up to him and a seatmate and began repeating “Repent, repent! We’re all gonna die.”
Her voice growing louder, the woman yelled, “Redemption is coming! Redemption is coming!” the passenger said.
Flight attendants restrained the woman with flex cuffs and attempted to calm her down, the passenger said, while an off-duty police officer offered to sit with her. When flight attendants asked the woman if she needed to get off the plane, she said yes.
Upon arrival in El Paso, firefighters checked the aircraft for explosive devices, according to The Daily Beast. None were found, and the woman was escorted from the plane.
Local law enforcement met the plane upon arrival and the flight departed shortly thereafter with all remaining customers,” Walls said in an email.
It is unclear whether the woman faces charges.
