If Hillary Clinton gets the nomination, Trump will be President. You're going to have the most racist, xenophobic, sexist, misogynistic President in a hundred years. If that's the America that its citizens wants, so be it.

It's not hard to analyze the election. Clinton appeals to women, feminists, the immigrants, the blacks, the Muslims. The liberals will also vote for her not because Clinton is a liberal, but because she is simply less illiberal than Trump.

Trump on the other hand appeals to the working class, the military establishment, the whites, the supremacists, the bigots, the Islamophobic segment, the sexists, the lower income, the lesser educated, and the disenfranchised.

Who has a stronger hand? Answer's obvious.

A Clinton nomination will mean a Trump Presidency. Fuck you, America.

Actually I thought it will be the other way around. Democrats outnumber the Republicans and generally vote along party lines. Thus it was crucial of Trump to appeal across party lines. He will however attract the fence-sitters and the swing voters who generally go for the stronger voice and stronger action.

Hilary has never held a decent independent job and expect to ride on the coat tails of her husband. Her character was pretty out there over the email server incident which sadly shows her attitude towards national security. It was obvious how polarising the views was of Hilary vs Bernie and it down to character of the former. Bernie did not have brand name as he did not marry Bill.

Trump on the other hand is as shady as they come but has touched on numerous politically incorrect issues which was swept in the carpet in the past not because they were not important and core to the nation but it was just on the basis that it was politically incorrect. Deep down the Republicans want Trump but they are not sure if he is electable having learnt lessons from the Tea Party era and the projection of elitism from the Republicans.

The only way that Trump will win is for the moderates among the democrats to switch over to Trump who they know is abrasive but will more likely address the issues that previously was swept under the carpet to pander to the minorities and liberal left. Of the two, Hilary presidency will not be marked by any significant events in the nation but under Trump, expect fireworks but also expect a more progressive America in terms of business and decisive action.

From the US perspective, China must be contained, but it can also be a very valuable ally. Hence the policy options toward China (and Japan too) must be crafted quite precisely. The East Asian region historically has also been a hotbed for conflicts and so they must tread carefully.

I hope it will be the other way round too! Am hesitant to extrapolate past trends (like Dems voting along party lines) into this election due to the unusual nature of the election - 2 candidates hugely unpopular with large swaths of the population, with one of them a nutcase. Wonder how did things come to this state. Could have many voters sitting out the election in disgust.

if trump gets elected, he would tell apple to move manufacturing operations back to america or else.....

and apple would most likely reluctantly oblige by re-investing their hundreds of billions in their war chest in the most advanced automated factory in the world employing few but highly skilled manufacturing workers. that's the way to go, instead of relying on cheap mass tiong labor for finger and hand assemblies of tiny components (very yesterday style of manufacturing). with trump, american companies that have been fleecing america with "cheap" offshore manufacturing will have little to no choice but to invest in state-of-the-art factories in the u.s., change the tide of american management's mindset for cheap easy short-term solutions to long-term advanced strategies, rediscover and rebuild manufacturing bases in america, reduce dependence on foreign labor, increase skill sets among american workers, and make america great again. it will tell china not to fuck with america when all future high tech components and systems will be made in america......again. and from what i've seen in the resurgence of flexible intelligent automated factories cumming up in the valley like mushrooms, it's a matter of time for realization that america will re-invent and re-invigorate manufacturing all over again.
