Facebook, vbulletin, twitter etc are merely platforms where people can communicate.
Facebook is just code. It's the people who use it that are evil.
Platforms are significant. Because they reach the masses.
This is where the concept of responsibility has to come to fore. We cannot have people make false statements and lies that can cause harm go to the masses!
Nowadays the biggest voices on these platforms are not the people with credentials and knowledge and expertise. In fact those people shun the platforms. They represent more avenues for other to sue them, prosecute them, report them.
So what you are left is total idiots with nothing to lose expounding rubbish written with vigor and sounding like actual fact and advice.
Even in the main stream media this sort of rubbish happens as well.
It is time there are some rules and laws to curb such misinformation and sensationalizing.
Just like a doctor cannot anyhow say XYZ cures cancer without risking disciplinary action, losing their licence and livelihood being sued for damages and hurt, so should anyone attempting to say the same thing.
If you can't sue someone cos they have no money? Throw them in the fucking jail then!
Holding facebook responsible for facilitating communication is ridiculous.
It's like suing a phone company for what was said over the phone network.
Good bro!Ban links and cut and paste function codes. Ban comments and let the gahment msm lied to you....
Time to Ban codes functions... limit server database to 1G.
Create auto delete function codes to delete texts in 1hr...
Nah.... don't anyhow accept links and think more is better... if you think you have 1 million followers you are getting into hot water....Not exactly.
Phone network. How many people can you call at one time?
If you own a website you can be sued for the content you post.
It is like if I allow someone to stand on my property and hold conferences and loud hailer announce all kinds of rubbish offensive stuff. Am I not party to it?
The question is.....is Facebook a media platform? Is facebook a media company? to a certain extent it is
A newspaper cannot anyhow let people post articles and feature commentary talking all kinds of rubbish without taking any responsibility.
Why is FB possibly being sued? As I have said before and I heard this from lawyers themselves. When a legal suit happens it is NOT because of justice. It is because of money. And FB is rich.
I hope FB gets sued big big big.
Then we will see censorship on all these stupid platforms like twitter and FB and what shit.
Seriously people with no credentials have no place to talk about things of importance.
You wanna talk about leisure hiking food etc ok go ahead.
Things like science. Actual important stuff. Go to the proper channels.
We do censorship here too. No ads. It is not totally 100% free speech.
Everything has a consequence.
