Tourists in Thailand accidentally walked into a community funeral near a night market on Jan 31, mistaking it for a food area. Instead of being turned away, they were calmly welcomed and served traditional funeral food - a common local practice.
 
Many years ago when I was still very young, I saw homeless people and poor people go to wake at void decks to enjoy free dinner.
 
Free publicity for the Thai village. Now the village council can develop it into a digital nomad hub

there’s also a huge buddhist temple in batam. the maha vihara. there are many virgin buddhist chiobus in the dining hall serving vegetarian food. it’s up to you to donate. otherwise it’s free. give a $50 note and can kau sua chiobu. give $10 note can kau sua lao aunties who are probably still virgins. they are simple, friendly and humble, unspoiled by materialism nearby in sg. may be they have never been outside batam.

Please di not destroy other peoples culture with toxic sinkie lifestyle. Its bad enough indon businesses use singkie as a tax haven causing difficulty for their country to develop.
