A man died after eating a hot fishcake that burned his throat and caused him to stop breathing, an inquest has heard.

Wedding planner Darren Hickey's voice box swelled up after he ate the food, before his condition gradually became worse and he choked to death.

Fish cakes today usually have less than 10% real fish, the rest being made of starch and fillers. You are better off eating real fish. My family eats real fish, not fish cakes. That's for low SES sinkies. No wonder fishball noodles low SES food is popular amongst sinkies.
