A private ambulance and a lorry collided near the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) exit towards Alexandra Road yesterday evening (July 4).
According to a police spokesman, the ambulance was ferrying a patient to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) when the accident happened.
Both vehicles flipped, causing a jam along the AYE towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP).
A reader called the TNP hotline about the accident, which happened at around 6pm.
According to one account, the lorry was trying to change lanes when the two vehicles crashed.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call at 6.09pm about the accident and sent an ambulance to the scene.
The 29-year-old lorry driver and the patient in the ambulance were taken to SGH.
