Alzheimer's (AD) and Limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy (LATE) both cause memory loss, but differ in their root cause: AD involves amyloid/tau plaques, while LATE involves buildup of the TDP-43 protein, affecting older adults (80+) and often coexisting with AD, leading to faster decline when combined, with LATE progressing slower in isolation but still impairing memory. Distinguishing them is crucial for treatment, as LATE pathology (like hippocampal sclerosis) mimics AD but needs different consideration, especially with new Alzheimer's drugs.

If you're a 'meh meh pak' person, this will be more of a problem for you.

Life in itself is already very scarlee. Just that most people chose to act blur, deny it or avoid thinking about it.
I totally agree with you. Most things are beyond our control, so those of us who believe in God pray for guidance and protection. The rest believe in luck, but few actually believe that they are truly the authors of their own destiny. Even our bodies are so fragile, with seemingly healthy young people suffering heart attacks, strokes and sudden illness w/o warning. Many of us appear to be doing well at work, then get caught off guard by a sudden retrenchment beyond our control, as it is often not due to our performance, but the need to cut costs.

Tbh I feel depress even I'm no longer leequire to worLee about leetrenchment and job security issues.

When i saw my friends, acquaintance, leelatives, ex colleagues dropping dead at 20s,30s,40s,50s, 60s I started to Lee visit life and have to accept the fact that life is fragile and that it carries no more meaning to me to continue the rat race.

2 of my young ex colleagues are currently battling with diseases, 1 of them in mid 20s with a kidney failure, and everyone was shocked becos he appear to be just like a normal young adult. Another early 30s battling with cancer.

Hope they can pull thru it.

There are simply far too many things in life that are beyond our control. Job loss, health issues, monetary problems, family matters etc. Some of us feel some form of control through our faith that there is a God who blesses, protects and guides us along in life. Like you, I feel sad when I learn of relatives and friends who fall into misfortune. Each time I undergo a lab test or scan, I pray for a good result. I know that I am just 1 step away from a poor diagnosis since our bodies are fragile. Like most people, problems start to show up later in life, which force us to re-examine our existence and the whole purpose of this life on earth. To most of us, it has been one big struggle.

I think, if dermentia did not run in your family trees, and most of your uncles/aunties lived a long riped life, then you should be pretty safe.

That being said, while nobody can be certain of what might happen during old age, there is still hope of preventative measures you can fully control. Eat light meal, white meats, good proteins and more fiber rich foods. Cut down sugar (which is highly inflammatory) and do regular exercises like long distance walk. Consume multivitamin supplements to fill any gap of nutrients shortage in old age. In general, Omega 3 fatty acid and multivit supplements are not very expensive. They are your fundamental body housekeepers to keep you stable against lurking diseases. Go for well known brand.

Lifestyle wise, your priority is to keep stress, pressure, anxiety level as low as possible. This include what you see, hear and speak. Stay away from polictics, crowded, messy, noisy and filthy places and self bragging people. Stop quarrelling with others and stop hearing other people quarrels and gossips. Toxics people and places, in the past when you were working, should have passed, that you are now getting old.

Don't stop reading, writing and doing creative stuff, and speaks constructively only when necessary, it helps to maintain a healthy and analytical brain function. Long hours sleep also purge out dead cells in your brain. Most importantly, make sure your tummy is flat, which means you are burning off all the excess fats and glucose which the body does not need.

Stop feeling sorry, anxious and frustrated for other parts of the world. Every country will still be dealing with their same political problems, quarrels and wars, even long after you passes on. Singapore is no difference.

I hope you find the above enlightening and helpful and then your body will reward you kindly in return.

One final thoughts, the internet is flushed with endless health informations. Some of them, please take it with a pinch of salt.

Having a clean family history is a great head start. Genetics loads the gun, but lifestyle pulls the trigger. Even w/o a family history of dementia, modern lifestyle factors like chronic inflammation can create lifestyle acquired cognitive decline. Your focus on prevention is within our control.

Talking about genetics and familee historlee is something tricky.

Almost 90% of the closer friends that I know of, including myself, has familee historlee of cancer.

So I am not sure how the medical world's view about this.

Having a family history doesn't mean we will get cancer, but our risk is higher. If we have many close relatives who get diagnosed at a young age with same cancer type shows an inherited risk for certain types of cancers. I don't have any history of cancer on both sides of my family, until an aunt had cancer recently (she refuses to say which variant), which surprised us all.

That's precisely my point.
When i see 90% of my closer acquaintance including my own familee having it, it simply pointed to me that basically almost all humans are at high risk.

A close friend who has no cancer up to now in his early 60s, even though many family members had various types of cancer, says it must be his luck to escape it thus far. He had some scares owing to symptoms down the years, but the tests always turned out negative. He thanks God for protecting him for 6 decades.

Increased obesity, processed diets, stress, lack of activity, early-life exposures like antibiotics and plastics, disruptions to the gut microbiome, later childbearing and hormonal shifts, are all suspected to cause earlier onset of more aggressive cancers like certain breast cancer types. Doctors suspect these factors to cause the spike in cancer among the young.

When we consider the number of diseases, ailments, deformities and other afflictions that may affect every baby who is born, it is already a wonder if we grow up without normal w/o any of these handicaps. Of course, they may afflict us later in life.

Cancers has nothing to do with genetics. You are retarded. If you strongly believe the cancers are genetic, show us evidence where is the beginning and the ending

If no evidence, better stop your delusion
