As the population gets more educated, there will be lesser farmers to cultivate food for the whole world.
Lesser fishermen and lesser farmers will drive up the cost of food.

We may not live to see this day come but will you be worry if it happens during your generation?
There has been discussion about searching for alternative food source.
One solution which seems workable is to grow and harvest seaweed.
But can we take in seaweed most the time?

The Surgeon General has categorically acknowledged that a constant diet of seaweed is sustainably beneficial to one's health. However, he warns in no uncertain terms that the aftermath defecation would be messy.:o

There will be agricultural/animal husbandry workers, technicians, engineers in real countries like US, Canada, Australia, China, Russia, and many other countries with land. Even desert-like habitats have been transformed into farming communities (eg. Israel) And you are also right that the seas and oceans will be harvested/cultivated for food and other resources. As long as the is profit to be made, our species will find a way. However, here in Peesai, her residents will have to depend on import foods, even drinking water. And when there is disruption to supply, you guys will have to farm out from the rooftops of your building. But for the time, Sg is doing well and her peoples can patronise expensive eateries and drink imported wines. In fact, Sg looks destined to become a culinary hotspot judging by the way food trends are taking here.

Cheers!

There is also the option of eating insects.

I am not to worried about less farmers and fishermen. A bigger concern is the destruction of natural environment. What good is a bunch of farmers if there is nothing to harvest?

Delete - confused this with a movie

The source of destruction of the environment comes from rearing of animals for human consumption.

You mean cutting and burning trees, widespread use of pesticide and overfarming of land in rearing vegetables play no part?

Any and every human activity takes away the natural environment. By virtue of our existence, we are Earth's cancer. Just look at Peesai, because we live here, we've taken away the homes of tigers, deer, wild boar, pelandok, crocodiles, etc. And what agriculture do we see around us? We've planted a concrete jungle. Elsewhere too, human activities like mining have destroyed the environment. Now we even cull the few remaining wild boar that occupy "our" space.

Cheers!
