When you say Singapore has low- birth rate, what do you mean?
Yes, racial issues and religion can be taboo; can also cause tensions among the people.
But when we talk about low-birth rate, we have to be specific becos Singapore is a multi-racial society, one broom cannot sweep all.
Dealing with low birth rate among a rojak society can be more complex and must be dealt with an open and forthcoming approach , and most of all, sincere if we must get result.
If you have local Malay married friends, just ask any of them how many kids he or she has.
Having three or four in a Malay family is common, and 5 to 6 kids are also not uncommon.
No surprise, a Malay security guard earns merely one 1k can look after 4 to 5 mouths.
How do they do it? Do they have secrets we don’t know?
Did our PAP govt ever mull about it ? If one group of people can survive like that, others should learn from them, emulate them.
Just import to fill up the lost-race proportion will only cause more social tensions instead of solving the main problem.
Also, when you say Singaporeans having low- birth rate, are you not sending wrong message to those poor and big families to have more babies when they are barely alive???
PAP govt should be more open and sincere in tackling this problem becos importing massive foreigners to becoming Singaporeans will eventually cause more troubles in the future.
China Chinese will not able to replace the local Chinese, you only create another race who are competing for space instead
Learn from the Malays, they know better when comes to raising more children, credits should be given to the local Malays if they deserves.
But of course, if PAP has a political agenda under the pretext of more FT citizens, the end for Singapore may be a sad story.
