A Myanmar national, who failed to give way to a motorcyclist while making a right turn at a traffic light junction, was fined $7,000 on Wednesday.

Sales and marketing supervisor Thein Zaw, 35, was also banned from driving for five years.

He had admitted to causing the death of Radha Krishnan Srinivasan, 49, along Ubi Avenue 2 on Jan 14, 2011.

A second charge of grievously hurting Srinivasan's 13-year-old son, who was riding pillion, was taken into consideration.
