A police force in southern China had to put out a public appeal after an officer lost his gun in a public toilet, according to a newspaper report.
The policeman mislaid the gun at a toilet near a police station in Guiyang in Guizhou province on Saturday, The Mirror reported.
Mobile phone users in Xiuwen county received a text message from the local government appealing for information about the missing weapon.
A reward of 10,000 yuan (HK$11,800) was offered for information leading to the retrieval of the gun, the report said.

The gun was found on Tuesday afternoon, but the report gave no details about where or how it was retrieved.
