My pilot friends say that is not true. They are more strict. So who should I believe?

Maybe different airlines, different countries and different officers. I also don't know. I'm not trying to make any point here. I'm just chatting about past experiences. I just hope it helps everyone making a trip abroad have a safe trip and bear in mind whatever inconveniences and clear them smoothly.
