CNA interviewed a 34 year-old PRC, Norman Lu, to get his views on the recent Govt announcement to curb foreign home ownership. With the annoucement, foreigners will now need to pay a 10% additional buyer's stamp duty on any private residential property.
Mr Lu who is a "healthcare consultant" arrived in Singapore a year ago. He has been looking to buy a condo in the last 3 months:

Mr Lu: "We are very very disappointed about this rule because even we are foreigner, we have working in Singapore for one year. We also contribute for this country. So I think that first, ok, as a foreigner, we feel that the Govt don't welcome us."
Reporter: "Mr Lu said he was on the verge of closing a deal but would need to evaluate his options now."
Mr Lu: "80% I will not buy now. I will wait for one year then I can get a PR. Then I will buy a private condo or buy a HDB."
"Another like 10%, I will leave this country because I can easy to find another like a job opportunity in another country. So I will leave".
"Another 10% is, if the property owner, they are going to drop the price to about 10 to 15%, then I will buy a condo immediately because I want to stay in my own property."

If Prc then I worry for our healthcare system. He go other country maybe have to work in McDonald or washing dishes at some back alley. Come here can be health consultant and buy condo. Most sinkees are struggling to buy HDB.
