SINGAPORE - A Chinese national is assisting police with investigations into a case where derogatory remarks were allegedly made about a Malay man in an online forum last week.
Police said today that the man is in his 20s and confirms that investigations are ongoing.
Earlier this week, the Straits Times reported that at least two reports have been lodged against the man.
The man claims to have beaten a Malay man and verbally abused him. He also described Singaporeans in unflattering terms.
The author, known only by his online name as Nai He Re Chen Ai, has since deleted his comments and posted an apology, saying that he had exaggerated the account of what happened.
