I put up with a lot on the street. Psychos, drug addicts, being accosted by beggars and the mentally impaired ten times a day, being yelled at, being assaulted. Here's a classic example of bad behaviour from a regular pedestrian with no excuse. This is what NOT to do to a busker. There are numerous ignorant things going on here.
1) Never interrupt someone while they are playing Floyd. Wait until the song is over, then approach if you want to talk. They completely fucked up my crucial solo in the song.
2) Never wave a dollar in someone's face and ask to play their guitar. First of all, what idiot is going to hand over their valued instrument to a complete stranger? And for a dollar? That's a major insult. These people act like I'm a trained seal who will yelp at the sight of a coin. Oh wow! A dollar? Here, take my Parker fly limited edition and run! At least I have a dollar now! What a deal! I wouldn't even give them my kazoo if I had one. After I said no, they kept their dollar and walked off in a huff. Uh, thanks for messing up my Floyd solo!
3) Take NO as an answer. I shouldn't have to repeat myself numerous times. Continuing to wave your coin around isn't changing my mind.
