Yes, when there was a toddy shop @ Tek kar, was it, Buffalo Rd or Kebrau Rd., the ship yard thambis, after their gaji, woul go for their fixes. It was a common sight to see some of the flying flat in the drains ( small) or the five-foot way or walking in zig zag on the road.

I have seen ah neh workers from India, sitting next to a filled uncovered dustbins, chit-chatting away.
