Japan - The Consumer Affairs Agency has released the names of two online shopping sites that sold counterfeit name-brand goods, the first time the watchdog has revealed malicious mail-order sales sites.

The agency said it will reveal such dubious websites in the future whenever it confirms the sale of counterfeit goods.

The two sites sold imitation products of Gucci and Moncler, which is known for its down jackets. The operators are based overseas and could not be reached by the agency.

From November to January, there were about 800 reports of fake goods bought online by Japanese, according to the agency. In most cases, consumers were unable to contact website operators after making their payments.

The two websites are: http://www.guccimenjpsale.com/ and http://www.bestmonclerjp.com/
