We are LIVE here at Fort Canning Park for the weapon presentation for recruits from Commando Training Institute! It is conducted here because on this day back in 1942, the British decided to surrender Singapore to the Japanese after a discussion at the Battlebox, an underground command centre at Fort Canning Hill. With a firm grip of their SAR21s, the duty and honour of defending our country will lie in their hands and serve to remind us all not to let history repeats itself!
