It looks like the taliban are diverting waters away from rivers that feed the Aral Sea, and that Aral Sea is nearly an empty hole due to excessive diversion away by the ex-soviet republics. Maybe Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan may invade the taliban to destroy this silly project before they have no more water for agriculture.
