Friend has 2 rooms available in his HDB flat. Wants to rent it out. I told him better not to. Easy to invite in, very messy to get rid when no option left.

I suggested renting the rooms to foreign students. Act as their guardian. Cover their meals. If possible, transport to school. Can also add on tuition fee.

Problem is, how and where to advertise? Should be right time time coz these foreign kids will start school here in Jan next year and their folks will want their kids' accommodation settled asap.

If frens hme near nus easy to rent out, can also advertise in nus web page. Nus students are no kids and most of the day they are in uni.back only to sleep.

Renting to foreign student is good. I would suggest if one of the room is a bigger room, put a bunk bed in there and accommodate 2 students instead. You get more revenue that way. Craigslist is good, also easyroomate.com.sg. If possible include a study desk in the room with reading lamp. You can also contact those international schools and agencies that are bringing in students to study here and some of them, you can register as a host family.
