Case in point: compared to where I’m at now (in the private sector that is), there’s already a > 3k pay gap awaiting folks just starting out, this widening to almost 7k within a short span of 3-4 years. Glaring wage disparity aside, career progression is also near non-existent no thanks to scholars being prioritized over you. Perhaps if you hang around long enough you might be rewarded for being loyal, but at what cost? By the time you make director or become somebody you probably already have one foot in the grave.

While your peers draw 5 figure salaries you will only be privy to eventual wage stagnation with a bonus package that fluctuates according to the whims of the economy. Particularly if you are a lawyer or accountant, there’s really no need to fixate on the supposedly assured for life “iron rice bowl” bull crap; job security should only rank among one's concerns when he/she brings to the table generic qualifications or skill sets. So leave to broaden your horizons, because nine times out of ten the private sector will most certainly embrace you. Heed my words and you will be all the better for it, peace out.

Fucking idiots. Good jobs in the private sector are reserved for foreigners. If not for civil service you will be competing with m&d in food delivery.

Can join provided that you get good CEP scores every performance year. Then you will go up very fast and paid very well. Of course, then you sell your soul to PAP as well. And karma will send some.fatal diseases to you or your family.

If your CEP.is neither here nor there, then don't expect too much if you are in public service. You are just a soldier, not General material.

Only join the public sector if one is forced to serve out a bond because of a scholarship. After that, get the fuck out.

Join the good ones la. If u join AssStar, it’s not too bad. I’ve spoken w the HR clowns there before. Filled with condescending think they know it all bunch of twats. HR job is like the minion level of that org, but if u por lumpar and get to a high level, it’s easy money.

TS kind of rant is to keep the competition out. Anonymous some more. Very suspicious. Don't be a fool and fall victim to such a ploy. :cautious:

Imuho it leelee leepend on what individual want. If they want to cheong and get high celery but anytime can become no celery I.e insecure then go pte. If want to have slow progression as toa peh gong kind then go for public. It is just a turtle and rabbit race .

Free medical, pension, holiday allowance, ....what is there not to join the civil service provided you do not buy a car.
