TRAUMA: Suspect arrested while refueling car in petrol station

MUAR: A 10-YEAR-OLD girl was kidnapped, raped, sodomised, slashed and forced to perform oral sex by a suspected drug addict on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested hours later at a petrol station while refueling his car, with the traumatised victim seated in the front passenger seat, with bloodstains on her school uniform.

The girl, who has been admitted at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, was abducted while she was cycling to attend religious studies at her school in Bakri here, about 150 meters from her house.

It would normally take her 10 minutes to get to Sri Bukit Batu School, via a shortcut through an oil palm plantation in Lorong Jaafar, that she frequently uses.

In the 4.30pm incident, a gardener saw a silver Proton Saga slowing down near the victim before the driver suddenly stopped and grabbed the girl.

He then bundled her into the car and sped off.

The gardener said he could not help the victim as the incident happened very fast but he managed to jot down the Proton Saga's registration number.

He asked his daughter, who is about the same age as the victim, if she knew who the bicycle belonged to and based on that information, the gardener informed the girl's mother about what had happened.

Johor Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Hasnan Hashim, who confirmed the incident, said police immediately formed a task force to locate the suspect after a report on the abduction was lodged.

"Information on the suspect's vehicle was disseminated to all patrolling units.

"We managed to track the vehicle and the suspect was arrested several hours later at a petrol station in Jalan Bakri Batu 6 when he stopped to refuel."

The suspect, a general worker who tested positive for Syabu, had raped and sodomised the victim in his car. He then forced her to perform oral sex, but when she refused, he hit her on the head, slashed her private parts and stabbed her stomach.
