President Vladimir Putin has taken part in major military drills of Russian nuclear forces and personally directed the test-firing of four intercontinental ballistic missiles as part of the exercises, the Kremlin said Friday.

Russian news agencies quoted Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that Putin participated in Thursday's training which was aimed at testing Russia’s strategic nuclear arsenal.

The Defence Ministry said that three ballistic missiles were fired from nuclear submarines and one from a launchpad in Russia’s northwest as part of the drills.

Russia has conducted a test launch of its Satan 2 nuclear missile, which the country’s defence ministry says is capable of wiping out an entire country with a single strike, The Independent reported.

The rocket was fired from the Plestek Cosmodrome spaceport, roughly 500 miles north of Moscow, ministry officials said.

The missile, also known as RS-28 Sarmat, travelled 3,600 miles before hitting its target on the Kura test range, an intercontinental ballistic missile impact area in the Russian Far East.

The weapon is said to be capable of carrying 12 nuclear warheads and could wipe out a whole country with a single strike.

Three ballistic missiles were also fired from nuclear submarines as part of the drills to test Russia’s nuclear arsenal.

The Kremlin said President Vladimir Putintook part in the exercise and personally launched four ballistic missiles.

A statement from the defence ministry said they had “carried out an exercise to manage its strategic forces”.

It added: “All objectives of the training have been successfully completed,” .

Earlier this month, Russia conducted exercises involving intercontinental ballistic missile launchers.

The manoeuvres follow massive war games conducted last month by Russia and Belarus that caused jitters in some Nato countries, including Poland and the Baltics.

Agaz-fynfvar4868213.jpg

WDDJ-fynfvff4609454.jpg

piG0-fynhhay7704297.jpg

The Russian Defense Ministry has published a video showcasing the capabilities of the Sukhoi Su-30SM, an advanced multipurpose fighter jet. The Sukhoi aircraft are shown in detail performing aerobatics maneuvers and deploying weapons.
The highly-maneuverable generation 4+ warplane is the modern variant of the design equipped with thrust-vectoring engines. It was based on the Su-30MKI, the version made by Russia for the Indian Air Force. The SM version made its maiden flight in 2012.

Simply forget all about the idea of Stealth because every 3rd world will be equipped with Anti-Stealth Radars and missiles cheap from China. Just use non-stealth high performance warplanes, and use only electronic warfare to jam radars, use drones to attack radars what so ever. Never again dream to make an expensive aircraft that you believed no radar could see you, this is Emperor's Invisible Cloak.

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. – Exercise Global Thunder 17, an annual command post and field training exercise, concluded Oct. 31.

U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), in coordination with U.S. and partner nation government agencies, conducted the exercise, which began Oct. 24, to train USSTRATCOM forces and assess joint operational readiness across all of the command’s Unified Command Plan-assigned mission areas.

“Testing our strategic forces through a range of challenging scenarios validates their safety, security, effectiveness and readiness,” said Adm. Cecil D. Haney, USSTRATCOM commander. “While the exercise is based on a notional, classified scenario, it realistically allows my forces to exercise and train as they would fight.”

Planning and coordination for Global Thunder 17 started more than a year ago. The scenarios and operations provided training opportunities for assigned units and forces.

“The scenario afforded USSTRATCOM’s headquarters staff, component commands and partners opportunities to validate existing operational plans and procedures while developing and testing innovative approaches for addressing complex and uncertain global security challenges,” said Maj. Gen. Heidi V. Brown, USSTRATCOM director of global operations. “Global Thunder 17 also provided us a chance to increase our interoperability between each of the combatant commands involved as well as our interagency partners and allies.”

Global Thunder 17 afforded USSTRATCOM the opportunity to host U.K. and Canadian officers.

U.K. Royal Air Force Air Vice Martial Edward Stringer, U.K. Ministry of Defence operations director, said his participation wouldn’t have been possible without the liaison officers permanently assigned to USSTRATCOM headquarters.

“I’ve always known that we get a huge amount out of having them here, but I’m very pleased with the number of senior officers here at U.S. Strategic Command who said how useful it is to have some of our best here doing good things,” said Stringer.

Liaison officers from Australia, Canada, Denmark and the U.K. are assigned to USSTRATCOM.

In addition to allies, partners and liaison officers, USSTRATCOM’s sub-unified command, joint functional component commands, task forces and service components also participated in the exercise.

“U.S. Strategic Command forces are on watch 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing the credible deterrent capable of convincing potential adversaries that they cannot escalate their way out of a failed conflict, restraint is a better option,” said Haney.

One of nine DoD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.

The US Strategic Command has commenced its ‘Global Thunder’ war games. This major military exercise involves all of STRATCOM’s major missions and come just days after the Russian military tested its nuclear triad in large-scale drills across the country.
This year’s exercise integrates “all the capabilities of US Strategic Command [US STRATCOM] across the globe wherever and whenever needed,” US Air Force General John Hyten, commander of USSTRATCOM, said in a statement.

“We need to integrate our strategic capabilities in order to deliver multi-domain effects against any adversary, anywhere in the world, at any time,” the general added.

The exercises will apparently involve STRATCOM’s headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base as well as its many subordinate units around the world.

The war games will encompass all of STRATCOM’s major missions, including “strategic deterrence, space operations, cyberspace operations, joint electronic warfare, global strike, missile defense and intelligence.”

The Pentagon has already informed the Russian military of the drills, RIA Novosti reported citing Captain Brian Maguire, spokesman for the Strategic Command. “The US and Russia must notify each other about large-scale nuclear drills under the [Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty],” he explained.

According to the spokesman, the ‘Global Thunder’ exercises are focused on enhancing STRATCOM’s “nuclear readiness.”

'Worrisome, but not a threat'
Moscow has voiced concern over the ‘Global Thunder’ exercises, but said it will not compromise Russia’s security.

Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s former ambassador to the US and currently vice-chairman of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs committee, said the drills “have been worrisome.”

"It’s as if the US is continuing its claim on the role of global political gendarme. This is an alarming sign, taking into account the structure of the offensive strategic forces being built by Washington," Kislyak told Sputnik.

He added that “Russia’s security is safeguarded; we have all the necessary tools of deterrence that can be put on alert when needed.”

US nuclear-capable B-2 stealth bomber flies mission to Pacific ahead of Trump’s visit to Asia
Russia’s military conducted its own maneuvers last week. It involved ballistic missiles being launched at mock targets and long-range bombers being scrambled for training missions. President Vladimir Putin ordered the launch of four intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) that hit mock targets in Kamchatka. The missiles were fired from a ground silo, as well as from two nuclear submarines patrolling high seas.

“Strategic Missile Forces trained interoperability with nuclear-powered submarines from Northern and Pacific Fleets and Air Force’s long-range aircraft,” Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, said Friday.

On Monday, the US military dispatched a B-2 stealth bomber on a long-range patrol over the Pacific to demonstrate Washington’s “visible commitment” to its Asian allies amid the North Korean crisis.

STRATCOM said the bomber, which took off from Whiteman Air Force Base, practiced moves to “familiarize aircrew with air bases and operations in different geographic combatant commands.”

Earlier in October, the US Air Force chief of staff hinted that the US is preparing to put its B-52 long-range bombers on 24-hour alert, a status last seen during the Cold War.

“This is yet one more step in ensuring that we’re prepared,” General David Goldfein told Defense One. “I look at it more as not planning for any specific event, but more for the reality of the global situation we find ourselves in and how we ensure we’re prepared going forward.”

A spokesperson for the US Air Force later denied there were plans to put the B-52s on high alert.

The designer said the material and suit can even block blast fragments.
But Mr Kitov said they are still working to boost its flame beating properties to withstand 30 seconds of continued exposure, as opposed to just 15 seconds.

The firm aims to release the product by 2020.
