There has been accusation that some MPs hold too many appointments, perhaps too many for them to focus on the resident. The latest shows the appointments held by one PAP MP, Yeo Guat Kwang.

Let’s organise the list a little and let’s see how time consuming these appointments are:

Member, Government Parliamentary Committee on Manpower
Member, Government Parliamentary Committee on Community Development, Youth & Sports
Member, GPC for Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts
Vice Chairman, Aljunied Town Council
Vice-Chairman, North East Community Development Council
PAP Community Foundation HQ Executive Committee
The above show basic Parliamentary duties – SOP and normal work of an MP

This particular MP also represents workers from the Labour Movement, his full time job is a director at the NTUC. The following are merely appointments that he needs to be plugged into to advance workers welfare.

It is just like saying you’re an advertising executive, but you’re also on the welfare committee, the health and safety committee…and various other workgroups each time a new project crops up.

Alignment Director, NTUC Quality Worklife & All Nationalities
Acting Advisor to Taxi Operators’ Association
President of Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE)
Executive Secretary, Singapore Chinese Teachers’ Unions
Director, Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (FIDReC)
Advisor, Federation of Merchants’ Associations, Singapore
Executive Secretary, Amalgamated Union of Statutory Board Employees

Patron to Pets Enterprises & Traders Association (PETAS)
Member, Motor Industry Disputes Resolution Centre Pte Ltd Board of Governors
Member, Retail Price Watch Group
Advisory Board Member, Singapore-China Association for Advancement of Science & Technology

To facilitate any MP’s knowledge of the ground, they ideally should be plugged into the organisations concerned with social and economic segments of society. After all, isn’t the ground always complaining that an MP must walk the grounds and hear the sentiments? These appointments assist him to do just that:

Member, SPRING Standards Council
Member, Board of Directors of PUB Board
Member, Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA)
Member, AVA Human Resource Committee

Patron. Buddist Fellowship

Member, Mental Health Alliance

So in all, the MP holds appointments in only 3 general areas: his Parliamentary duties, his work and community involvement.

An MP however, does have one area of life that he/she will invariably neglect – his/her family. You literally sell your life, soul and family to the country – and the only thanks you get is an angry article from The Real Singapore. Which is probably the reason why many do not want to return to run for a second term.

This is nothing new.
Do you remember that Ministers, PM and MP salary was cut after GE2011? In order to maintain PAP dogs total monthly income, PM Lee created many smaller portfolios for them so that their total income remains the same.

PAP MPs are intelligent and talented people. They are chosen because they can multitask and handle multiple responsibilities.

They are not like WP MPs who are only good at walking around and pretending to care for the old folk and the losers of society.

I agree that it is a weak attempt by opposition supporters to exaggerate Yeo's portfolios.

But if Yeo reads TRS, I doubt his intelligence. I don't even read that.

Let's all keep silent for a few seconds in remembrance of what Grace Fu has to sacrifice for being a MP & a minister of WOTOS (waste of time, oxygen & space)!

One really wonder what kind of sacrifice they have made!
Did her children died in some accident because precaution was not put in place by law during NS or school time?
Did her parents died due to some bad policy while hospitalised because policies & procedures were not put in place by law?
Did her husband got run down by mad nut behind the wheel of a truck because the driver was drunk?
And she became a MP to right all this wrong? If she did, then it is considered a sacrifice! But she went in because of good career prospect to earn millions which did she earn in the first place before getting involved in politics?
So her sacrifice & all PAP white dogs sacrifice are just mere common sacrifice experience by each & every responsible Singaporean making a living and the rest of Singapore are earning much much less while experiencing the same level of sacrifice!

A pity the highly talented Yeo wasn't headhunted by leading entities in this world. A hidden talent indeed. Or maybe he was but rejected to serve his fellow S'poreans in so many ways.

Yeah, rite!! PAP MPs got 2 heads, 6 hands and feet and probably god knows how many pricks to handle all these appointments!!!

Ong Kian Min is one example.

Given the choice of serving as MP to giving up all his lucrative directorships, he chose the latter.

But he reaped many years as back-door MP in Tampines......lucky guy.

Bro, he had to go. Caught with pants down. Wife complained to Pinky. It changed the PI landscape. Why do you think all surveillance targets nowadays must now go through an appropriate department first? They don't change their SOP for nothing.

It is funny how quickly they acquire multi-tasking capabilities AFTER becoming PAP MPs. If the WP forms the government the WP MPs will develop these super powers overnight.

Strange part is, why can't they multi-task inside PMO when you have so many chaps around doing chobolan? Why some ministries require 2 ministers?

In the past, PI companies could place anyone on surveillance as long as client pays! OKM kena bio-ed. His wife was PI company's client. So, when caught with pants down and more importantly, to prevent such embarassment in future, corrective measures were implemented. For a subject to be on surveillance, a police department has to give the green signal. Am sure this department would have a list of 'sensitive' personalities. I suspect it would inclide all MIWs and high ranking civil servants. Anyone that can malu the establishment.

How about ISD surveillance, needs any Police approval? NGB is under surveillance now and I am still curious if he can be accepted and work as civil servant since he was acquitted.

If its really a false allegation, wouldn't the 超级白 have sued?
This was what their supreme leader decreed right?

OKM steal eat, is it?

His family groomed him for political office since young, after he got the President Scholarship. His wife also with him since day one.

PAP changes the law to suit themselves.
