An oxymoron perhaps, but do you get the impression that people find it very hard to accept rejection these days?
In the newspapers, you read about lovers causing harm to each other, after being rejected.
Even in our daily life, we get telephone calls from salespeople who just cannot take no for an answer. Some of them will even go to the extent of interpreting your "no" for a "yes".
And of course not forgetting the dear people who stop us while we are walking on the street, especially near mrt stations. Whether they are trying to get donations or trying to get you to invest in some hare brained scheme, how many times have we found ourselves wasting our time trying to convince them that we decline?
Have people forgotten how to accept rejection gracefully?

Unlike us old folks, people nowadays are taught that never taking no for an answer is a virtue and a prerequisite for success.

Me, I hid in a corner and licked my wounds.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Why has there been a recent spate of interest in digging up old bones for discussion?

Maybe Ah Lee's time is coming, and writers everywhere are teeing up for the grand publication
