This is the Contrast on Governance between Singapore and Hong Kong.
For every dollar and cent the HK gov spent, they will have to be accountable to the taxpayers. They can't just cite "secrecy" or "confidentiality clause" to avoid accountability because that would open up to abuse or even corruption in such secret deals. The ICAC would actively scrutinize such deals.
Way back in 2003/2004 when InvestHK tried to use taxpayers' money to pay foreign singers (if I remember correctly it was Rolling Stones) to perform in HK after the SARS pandemic, the HK gov was robustly scrutinized by their Legislative Council.
But in Singapore, our PAP Gov could just get away with non disclosure hiding behind "Confidentiality Clause"!
If the CPF accounts of individual citizens could be revealed in public so quickly in defense of their welfare cut to the couples which is really not of any public interests, why would PAP become so upright in maintaining confidentiality when REAL PUBLIC INTERESTS is involved in utilizing taxpayers' money in the millions in this case?
I have responded to PAP's challenge on the Reserves Challenge and it is entirely FALSEHOOD to claim that the Democratic Camp didn't take up this challenge!
Well unfortunately I can't POFMA them as this is PAP's Controlled MSM and I am not a Minister.
The only issue is MSM are the ones AFRAID to report on our response to PAP's challenge and now pretend that a of us has "admitted defeat"! It's so lame but I don't have high expectations of them.
I have explained what is the Economic concept and rationale of Carbon Credit in my Live Chat but it's basically just an idealistic theory that could not be executed to achieve its aim. A lot of people consider it as "scam".
